This class will teach the student the basics of Cranial Sacral Therapy, the Craniosacral System, production of the Cranial Sacral Fluid and the palpation of the Craniosacral Rhythm. This course begins with a brief history and development of the modality and then jumps right in-- offering hands on self-perception labs that will give the student a self-experiential understanding that will assist their development of subtle touch therapy.

Students will learn how to perceive the flexion and extension of the CSR and continue to work with that rhythm as a foundation, building on to it with an array of different techniques, as each lab is presented. Students will also be introduced to working with 3 and 4 planes of fascia by means of "stacking" in order to assist diaphragm releases.

The basic understanding of the diaphragms in relationship to the Chakras will be presented as well as a basic review of the O/A region, brain-stem and Cranial Nerves as well as a fresh perspective of TMJ and a basic compression/decompression technique to assist with TMJ disorder.

This class is based in Integrated Manual Therapy that is specific to the Dural Releases.

In this 3 day workshop we will be working with each of the Cranial bones to access the dural and cortical region and subcortical regions of the brain.

We will access and work with this region in 3 different ways, via;
Osseous releases- Working directly with each of the cranial bones
Sutural releases- Specifically working with the sutures that connect each of the cranial bones
Dural releases- Working with the Dura which is attached to the above mentioned and surround cortical and subcortical regions.

Prior to doing the Osseous, Sutural & Dural Releases students will work with the 4 diaphragms in the body-- Pelvic, Respiratory, Thoracic, Hyoid, and 2 in the cranium considered to be the Vertical and Horizontal vault holds. Addressing these diaphragms enable the student to assist the body to balance and integrate the changes which occur in the body, from working with the different cranial holds.

This class will give you an electrical and new perspective on the Body/Mind. In the first part of this class, you will learn the very basics on how to listen into the body with your hands, to perceive lesion chains or lines of tension, which actually create the pain we feel in our bodies. The second part of this class, you will learn to palpate and "hear" the subtle electrical signals conducted from the brain (which is your hard drive), to the individual organs in the body, thus, helping to increase, resynchronize, and, reconnect any signals that may have been lost, aberrant or disconnected.

Nina graduated in 1989 from Mueller College of Holistic Studies, San Diego, CA. Years later, coming to Sedona, Nina graduated from the Sedona School of Massage and continued her education in Ortho-Bionomy. Currently Nina is a registered Advanced Practitioner of Ortho-Bionomy, an Upledger graduate and a current student of the Barral Institute. Nina has also spent the last 8 years in private practice working with a Hands-On Advanced Osteopathic Manual Therapist. Together, they write stimulating curriculum based on an array of traditional Osteopathic manual therapies, creating lessons that join theory with practice. A natural teacher, filled with an unquenchable thirst for a deeper and broader understanding of the body, Nina has doubled her passion by sharing her knowledge with her clients and students.

120 Hour Certification in An Awareness Based Approach to Structural Integration

6 week full immersion program

ABOUT THE CLASS
In this 120 hour intensive, you will have the time, the space, and the invitation, to slow down your process, and to start to notice what is really true for you.

This body of work facilitates greater awareness and the ability to live a more fully embodied life.

We will be working with the myofascial system, to improve the overall functioning of the body/mind. Patterns of chronic holding and congestion in the tissues impair the free flow of precious fluids and nutrients to the cells of the body, leaving parts of ourselves shut down or deadened. This affects not only posture, organs and whole systems but also our perceptions and ways of being in the world. This work is a skillful and effective means of opening the pathways by which we are fed. You will learn to work “deep”, not “hard”, to free up the connective tissues, the medium in which all the metabolic processes occur. As the body opens, we experience less restriction, fuller range of motion, more balanced alignment and a sense of freedom and well being. In a contemplative setting, you will learn a ten session model of very specific techniques for releasing the whole body. We will also be integrating the work of Aaron Mattes, Active Isolated Stretching (AIS), which enhances the work and gives great tools for stretching your clients.

We will be drawing on the work of Ida Rolf, cutting edge cell biologist James Oschman, Bruce Lipton, Neuroscientist Candace Pert and others, to gain a deeper understanding of the actual science that supports the body/mind union

TOPICS COVERED:
• Technique of ten session bodywork
• Body reading
• Awareness facilitation & Therapeutic skills
• Anatomy & Physiology
• Kinesiology
• Active Isolated Stretching

This is a 6 week, part-time Intensive, with class scheduled for Monday – Friday, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm.

“The highest function of education is to bring about an integrated individual, who is capable of dealing with life as a whole."
—J. Krishnamurti

In this training we will be working with a model of awareness and self empowerment, rather then a “fix it mentality” Although many conditions are improved and often resolved with this work, it’s working with the understanding that “awareness precedes transformation”. If I’m not aware of what my patterns of holding are…there is no hope of change. As soon as I become aware of what I’m doing…there lies the opportunity for change.

“You can’t do what you want, until you know what you’re doing”
—Moshe Feldenkreis

PROGRAM COST:
Tuition: $2500.00
Application Fee: $50
Books: $50.00
A $500 deposit is due upon acceptance into the program.

Refund policy: If the class is canceled there will be a 100% refund. If the student cancels by June 20th, all monies minus a $100 administration fee will be refunded. After June 20th, there will be no refund.
